Portable and transportable housing in Tamworth
Need a home, a cabin or site accommodation without the wait of a traditional build? We build portable buildings off-site and install them on your property - fully fitted, compliant and ready to use.

What is portable housing?
Portable (or transportable) buildings are built in a controlled environment, then trucked to your site and installed. Because most of the work happens off-site, weather has less effect on the timeline, and they can be moved later if your needs change.
What we build

One-bedroom portable homes
Self-contained, with kitchen, bathroom and living space - for backyards, family members or short-term rentals.
Cabins and studios
Home offices, teenage retreats and guest stays, fully wired and insulated.
Site and worker accommodation
Bunk rooms, ensuites and mess rooms for farms, construction sites and mining work.
Site offices
Office pods with power, data and air conditioning for worksites and industrial yards.
Dual and modular units
Connectable modules for bigger households or multi-room setups.
Who it suits - and who it doesn't
Portable housing works well for rural blocks with good access, secondary dwellings, farm workers, and anyone who needs a building quickly or may want to move it later.
It's not the best fit for tight blocks with narrow or steep access (getting the building in can blow out costs), for people after full architectural freedom, or for sites with zoning or bushfire conditions that rule it out. If that's you, a granny flat or a traditional build may be better value - and we'll tell you so.

What affects the cost
The building itself is only part of the price. Allow for:
Transport and delivery
Site preparation and levelling
Footings and installation
Water, power and sewer or septic connections
Council approvals
Decks, steps and access
We'll give you the full picture up front, not just the base price.

How it works
Plan
We look at your site and how you'll use the building, then choose a layout.

Design and compliance
We design it to suit your zoning, fire rating and energy requirements.

Build
Your building is put together off-site by licensed trades.

Deliver and install
We deliver it, set it on footings and connect the services.

Portable and Transportable Housing FAQs
Do I need council approval?
In most cases, yes. We'll handle submissions for dwellings and help with paperwork for non-habitable (Class 10) buildings.
Can a portable home be lived in long term?
Yes. Plenty of our clients use them as permanent homes for family, farm workers or affordable housing.
Do you deliver outside Tamworth?
Yes - across the North West, including Manilla, Gunnedah, Quirindi and beyond.
